1. Purpose
This Cookie Policy explains how MyMortgageLens uses cookies, browser local storage, and related technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy. The Site is independently operated by Steven Cannon.
2. What Cookies and Local Storage Are
Cookies are small files or values stored by a website or service in your browser. Local storage is another browser mechanism used to remember settings. Cookies and local storage may persist after you close a page, depending on their settings and your browser.
3. Our Current Categories
Preference storage. The Site uses browser local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics. The preference is stored under the key mml-analytics-consent with an accepted or rejected value. This storage supports your privacy choice and is not itself used to deliver advertising.
Optional analytics. If you accept analytics, the Site enables Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to help us understand visits, page views, referral sources, general interactions, and site performance. Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_... cookie to recognize browsers and maintain analytics session information. Actual cookie names, expiration periods, and behavior can vary by Google's configuration and browser settings. We do not intentionally send contact details or mortgage calculator input values to GA4.
Operational technologies. Our hosting provider and infrastructure may process IP addresses, request logs, and technical information necessary to serve, protect, and troubleshoot the Site. These processes are distinct from optional GA4 analytics cookies. The Site may also use transient browser or application state to operate the calculator and form.
4. Your Consent Choices
GA4 analytics is intended to remain off unless you select Accept in the cookie consent banner. Choosing Reject allows you to continue using the calculator without optional GA4 analytics. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie Settings in the Site footer. The Site's consent-management behavior may refresh the page to apply a change.
Withdrawing consent stops future optional tracking to the extent the Site's controls are functioning as designed. It does not automatically delete information previously transmitted to Google or remove cookies already stored on your device. You may clear existing cookies and local storage using your browser's privacy controls.
5. Browser and Provider Controls
Most browsers allow you to inspect, block, or delete cookies and local storage. Blocking all storage may prevent the Site from remembering your choice and may affect some functions. Google's own controls and policies provide additional information about its processing of analytics information. Disabling cookies alone may not stop all server-side operational logging.
6. Advertising Technologies
This Policy describes the current optional GA4 analytics implementation. It does not claim that MyMortgageLens currently runs Meta pixels, cross-site retargeting, behavioral advertising cookies, or advertising contact-list uploads. If additional tracking or advertising technologies are introduced, we will update the disclosures and implement any consent or opt-out controls required by applicable law before enabling them.
7. Changes
We may update this Policy as technology, vendors, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised when an updated Policy is posted. Additional notice or consent will be provided where legally required.
